Reaffirming its commitment to supporting local farmers, the Municipality of Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, through the Municipal Agriculture Office, successfully distributed biofertilizer to approximately 400 rice farmers from various barangays within the municipality.
This initiative aimed to enhance crop productivity, improve soil health, and promote sustainable agricultural practices in rice farming. The beneficiaries included farmers from the barangays of Adlay, Gamuton, Bacolod, Panikian, Tag-anito, and Saca.
The distribution activity was attended by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Jessie James T. Valle, CHC Agritech Technical Representative Mr. Darriel Benedicto, Municipal Agriculturist Mr. Japhet C. Sugian, and the dedicated staff of the Municipal Agriculture Office. The event was held at the Carrascal Lawn Tennis and Badminton Center.
This program marks a significant step toward strengthening the local agricultural sector and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for rice farmers in Carrascal. By boosting rice production, it contributes to increased productivity and aligns with the municipality’s vision of achieving food security and fostering sustainable development in the locality.
